US Airways
US Airways
US Airways is the fifth largest domestic airline employing more than 36,000 aviation professionals worldwide. US Airways, US Airways Shuttle and US Airways Express operate approximately 3,700 flights per day and serve more than 230 communities in the U.S., Canada, Europe, the Caribbean and Latin America. The new US Airways — the product of a merger between America West and US Airways in September 2005 — is a member of the Star Alliance network, which offers our customers 17,000 daily flights to nearly 900 destinations in 160 countries worldwide. Customer service has always been a priority at US Airways, and we are committed to making every flight count for our valued customers.
The US Airways Board of Directors believes good corporate citizenship is in the best interest of our company and helps ensure the airline's long-term viability. Through our community relations activities, we contribute to the economic and social well being of a range of stakeholders, including employees, shareholders, passengers and the communities in which we operate.
US Airways fulfills its commitment to corporate citizenship through corporate philanthropy (support of a broad range of nonprofit organizations, including arts and culture, health and human services, education, environmental and civic), foundation giving and employees' involvement in their local communities through volunteerism and service on nonprofit boards.
US Airways contributes through three channels of giving: Annual Corporate Giving Program, the US Airways Community Foundation and the US Airways Education Foundation. Organizations may apply for funding in all categories should they meet the eligibility requirements.
Alliances with other global airlines allow many benefits to the passenger including an expanded network of destinations, simplified check-in and baggage procedures and enhanced connections to help make the journey as short as possible.
The Star Alliance network
US Airways is a member of the Star Alliance network, which was established in 1997 as the first truly global airline alliance to offer customers a worldwide reach and a smooth travel experience. In 2007, the Star Alliance network was, once again, voted the Best Airline Alliance at the Business Traveler Awards. Overall, Star Alliance offers nearly 18,000 daily flights to approximately 965 destinations in 162 countries.
The Star Alliance network benefits for our customers include network expansion through codeshare service, Dividend Miles benefits, airport lounge access, convenient single-ticket pricing and one-stop check-in and coordinated baggage handling.
The Star Alliance network includes:
Air Canada, Air China, Air New Zealand, ANA, Asiana Airlines, Austrian, bmi, LOT Polish Airlines, Lufthansa, Scandinavian Airlines, Shanghai Airlines, Singapore Airlines, South African Airways, Spanair, SWISS, TAP Portugal, THAI, Turkish Airlines, United and US Airways.
As well as 3 regional members:

In just one year we've moved from last to first in on-time performance. Our amazing turnaround wouldn’t be possible without the hard work of our 36,000 employees who strive to get you where you need to be on-time every time.
We’re proud of our #1 ranking and excited to improve all areas of our airline. Thanks for choosing to fly with US.
